| Bio: | My name is Amanda. You can call me... Amanda.
I split my time between the foothills of the Catskills in New York State and New York City.
I used to go to Emerson College, where I double majored in audio/radio an writing, literature and publishing. Now I go to New York University, where I major in English. I will finish my B.A. in December, 2008 and plan to go on to graduate school in January, 2009 to get my M.A. and New York State teaching certification to teach English for grades 7-12. (Currently, my journal contains a lot of freaking out about academic-type stuff, including finishing undergrad early, applying to grad school, Etc.)
I used to volunteer at a radio station as a member of its youth radio project, and as a member of the programming committee. I also hosted my own music show, Tragically Unhip. It aired the first and third Tuesday of every month at 11:00 p.m. Eastern time during my last summer before college. Tragically Unhip was revived on WECB, one of Emerson College's radio stations. I love the radio station. Have lots of friends and countless good memories thanks to that place. I still write about it frequently.
I love music. I have been called a music snob on more than one occasion. This may or may not be true. I will admit to nothing.
In June of 2006, I attended The Seeing Eye in Morristown, New Jersey to train with my first guide dog. I received a black Labrador Retriever named Hester, and she never fails to amaze me. I blogged about training at ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) amandasdog.
The fact that I have a guide dog should be a huge hint that I'm blind. Is true; I am blind. Sometimes I write about my blindness. (I'm totally blind. This means I have no vision whatsoever. No light perception, no colors, no shadows.)

Occasionally, I'm witty. More often than not, I'm angsty. Friend me if you like, but consider yourself warned; I'm a college student. I don't curb my language. I try to put more graphic things under LJ cuts, but sometimes, I don't. Sometimes, I'm an idiot. I've still got some growing up to do. I make no promises about the content of this journal.
